Recipe #4: Mash Potatoes :)

The boyf says I get bored of things really fast, especially food. It's true, I do. I ate porridge for three meals yesterday and didn't feel like having porridge for lunch today again. So mum suggested mash potatoes instead. I took up her idea and made my own mash potatoes. And boy, it turned out really good! :D

So I'm gonna be nice and tell you how to make it. It's my very own recipe teehee.

Mash Potatoes with Basil and Butter

Ingredients:
Potatoes
Butter
Basil leaves
Salt
Garlic

Steps:
1. Boil your potatoes and some garlic (not too much) together in water. I used 4 potatoes for one serving.
2. Make sure the potatoes are soft enough to be mashed.
3. When the potatoes are soft enough, transfer it into a plate and start mashing them together with the garlic.
4. Add butter, salt and basil. I used 4-5 tablespoons of butter. If you prefer less butter like my dad, then reduce the amount. If you prefer more, then add! It depends on you! :)
5. Mix them all together!
6. You are done! Serve it!

Seriously, it's that simple! :D

Try it out now and leave comments on how it turned out! ;)

Recipe #2: Spirals with Sesame Oil Basil-ed Potatoes

Hello all! I'm back! Back to college, back to studying but last but not least, back to COOKING! :D

You know, cooking always makes me happy whenever I'm down. If it turns out good, I'll be so happy! :D Maybe I should take up Culinary Arts instead of ACCA -.- I dislike ACCA to the max. Anyway, back to topic.

I JUST COOKED SOME PASTA FOR MY TEA TIME! :D

I was soooooooooooooooooooooo effing hungry, so I decided I should cook something to eat. FYI, most of my pasta styles are the same. But today, I added some new ingredients, so it has a total different taste in it.

Take a look at the pictures :)

Tempted to know my own made recipe? ;)
Okay, I'm feeling generous today, so I'll spill it.

SPIRALS WITH SESAME OIL BASIL POTATOES
Ingredients:
Spirals, Potatoes, Garlic, Oats, Pepperone, Oregano, Basil, Sesame Oil, Olive Oil, Hot Chili Powder and Salt

Step by step:
1. Boil a pot of water and sprinkle some salt in it. Put in the spirals and wait for it to cook. It's cooked when the pasta soften.

2. While waiting for the spiral to soften, cut your potatoes and soak it in salt water.

3. Take the spiral out after it's cooked and put a teaspoon of olive oil so that the spirals won't stick together. Next, use the remaining boiled water and boil your potatoes instead.

4. Once boiled, drain the water out of the pot. Make sure you separate the potatoes from the spirals because we're going to be cooking it at a different time.

5. Put some olive oil in a frying pan. Not too much alright. Maybe 2 tablespoon would do.

6. After the oil heats up, put garlic, hot chili powder, salt, pepperones and oregano in the pan and stir fry it until the garlic turns light brown. NOT TOO LONG, okay?

7. Add in potatoes and a tablespoon full of oats and mix together with the garlic. Stir fry it again until potatoes turn a lil brown.

8. It's time for the spirals to go into the pan! Mix everything together and add basil. Do add a pinch of salt, some hot chili powder, pepperones and oregano again. You wouldn't want your pasta to be tasteless :)

9. Mix, mix, mix until you think it's ready.

10. Pour it all out on a plate and serve with cheese. Please do not use sour cheese! The one I used was sour though. But it's not recommended unless you want a sour taste in your pasta.

Yeap, that's it.. Simple, no? Whatchu waiting for? Go try it now and tell me how did it turn out! :D

Kent's Corner ( Kentcan )

Nyum, today I found out that Kent's Corner in Sin Kah Poh Cafe at Jalan Besi, GreenLane (the coffee shop behind Caltex Greenlane) has a blog! And what's more, they do delivery to certain areas.

What do they sell, you may ask? :) Well, if you head down to Sin Kah Poh Cafe, you will see a variety of western homemade goodies from spagethi to cheese baked rice. The price ranges from RM6.90-RM9.90. Not bad eh? The taste is good too! :D They even have shepherd's pie and chicken calzone. Who wouldn't be tempted hm? :) I'm slurring now even while typing.

I've tried the cheese baked rice, spagethi, shepherd's pie and the hawaian pizza already and it's all really up to expectations. I've been going back for more every now and then.

WAIT! Now if you think that's all, you're wrong. They do sell cakes, mini cakes, desserts, full month packages and do catering for events and functions too! I haven't tried all those though but I'm planning to one day.

If you're lucky, you may be able to buy a slice of cake in Kent's Corner rather than buying a whole cake.

So if you're interested, head down to Sin Kah Poh Cafe now and try one of their dishes for a start. I recommend the cheese baked rice and pizza.

Or HEY, why not call them up and ask for a delivery! :)

Check out their website for the details.

I spoon feed you all the links already, better check it out okay? :)

Random Pick: Marché Movenpick Restaurant

Printscreen-ed picture taken from The Curve website.

Random: Marché is Market in French.

It is kind of like a French food court. Before you enter, the person in charged will give you a piece of cardboard paper for orders. When you order your food, the cook/ waiter will write what you ordered onto the paper given upon entrance. Wait, eat, order, wait eat, order, etc. Order as much food and drinks as you want, and when you're satisfied, just head over to the counter and pay :) But remember, don't waste because you're paying for what you order.

The food in Marché Movenpick Restaurant is good, I must say. I went there a few times quite a long time ago already, so pardon me for the lack of information and pictures. Was too engrossed in eating ;) I think the lamb was good. So are the jumbo sausages & baked potatoes with cheese.

So if you are living in KL, or maybe studying there, you can always head down to Marché MovenPick Restaurant in The Curve.

OKAY I KNOW LAH DAMN RANDOM! This restaurant came into my mind out of a sudden. But you should go try. You won't regret. Damn, I miss this place now. Ima bring my boyf and friends there if I ever have a trip down to KL with them :)

Recipe #1: Macaroni with prawns ♥

...is LOVE :))

Tempted? Lol!

Kkkkkk, lemme tell you my recipe.

You can try it yourself at home. All you need is
  • Macaroni
  • Prawns
  • Garlic
  • Basil Leaves
  • Hot Chili Powder
  • Salt
  • Chili Padi
  • Water
  • Oil

Here's the steps:
  1. First of all, boil the water in a pot (like durr) with some salt.
  2. Then, add the macaroni into the boiling water and wait until the macaroni is cooked.
  3. Throw the water away (NOT the macaroni).
  4. Next, take your kuali/ frying pan/ whatever you use to fry stuff and put some oil into it (not too much, later not healthy).
  5. After the oil heats up, add garlic (how much to put depends on you) and stir fry it a lil.
  6. Dump (not literally) the prawns into the kuali together with some salt (reasonable amount-not too much harr, later you get high blood pressure), hot chili powder, basil leaves and chili padi.
  7. Of course, fry it all together until the prawn is cooked.
  8. Then slow the fire down and put the cooked macaroni into the kuali.
  9. Mix, mix and mix as long as you want! (remember not to burn it though)
  10. Finally, off the fire and serve it on a plate (like durrr).

& TADDDAAAA!!!! You'll get the same thing I cooked. Mm mmmm!! Lovely!

Go try it out and tell me what you think of it! ;)

XOXO.
