Hello all! I know I haven't been updating ever since the first day of CNY (which also happens to be Valentine's Day). Well, CNY is now officially OVER! :( So no more ang pows & CNY kuih-muih! I already miss eating them especially chigu & those almond cookies that melts in your mouth. Such haven.
Okay, so Ima update you with my CNY. If you followed my blog, you will know by now where I usually go back to during this season.

Dad drove the whole family down to Kelantan in his 2 to 3 weeks old car. Finally, a comfy and spacious car to travel in. Normally, the journey will take at least 5-6 hours minimum but we took only 5 hours to reach the border of Kelantan because dad sped WTFish. We headed straight to Kota Bahru which of course, took us another hour or so. I saw a 24-hours MCD there OMFG! -.- I've been to Kelantan for many many years already (20 years to be exact) and never in that grace period I've seen a 24-hours MCD there. They even have WiFi-ed cafes, Parkson (WTF seriously), Bowling Alley, Professional Salons and many more! Truly, Kelantan has developed already. They also have Happy sim cards there. Now who says Kelantan is ulu & still live on trees and uses cows as means of transportation eh?
As usual, we headed over to our favourite reastaurant there but to much dismay, it was closed :( So we went searching around and ended up in a Thai Restaurant (which serves more chinese food than thai food WTF). The food was reasonable. Not entirely good, not bad either. After dinner, we headed for home in Pasir Puteh.
Unpacked, online a lil and stayed up late to watch some shows on Astro (as I have no Astro at home. How saddening right?)

It was CNY eve. FYI, most of our relatives arrived the same day as us. Aunties and mum helped out in the kitchen while we kids catched up with our cousins. The whole morning and afternoon was wasted watching shows on tv. We were bored, of course. So we walked around the neighbourhood and bought keropok lekor & goreng pisang back to the house to eat as we were craving for it.
P/s: Keropok lekor is a MUST eat in Kelantan. Penang's are just full of flour but in Kelantan, it is purely fish! :O :O How lovely, no? :)
We had reunion dinner at night. The food was not as good as the previous years. Shark's fin was a lil too salty. Maybe it's due to age factor. Aunt is getting older :S Oh well, maybe it's time for the younger generation to step in and do the job (which I doubt will happen because none of us can cook that well) for her LOL!
The rest of the night was spent online, tv and poker cards ;) Chor dai di, of course.
The shark's fin.

1st day of CNY! Gong Xi Fa Cai, Ang Pow Na Lai! ;)) Dressed up, curled my hair and helped my cousin with it and left to go visiting. Went over to one of my aunt's new house. It's sooooooooo pretty & nicely done up! I wish my house would be that nice! She served Nasi Dagang together with the lauk-pauk. It is not my favourite but it's Kelantan's specialty too (I think). We hung around her house until evening, then went back home to rest, then dinner.
Fooling around :D
Well, the rest of the night was spent online, tv and poker cards- again. Bored eh? We can't seem to find any nice games to play with :S

Stayed back in the house and did practically nothing for the whole day except play with cards, eat, watch tv & played around with our 2 lil nephews. Kids are just so cute, you know. But they can be a walking disaster if they do not like you. One of my nephew asked us to draw rabbit masks for him. So, we did. It reminded me of my childhood days where we made masks and wear them all around. HAHA, how cute isn't it?
Masks for the 2 nephews.
Our lunch for the day was special. My sister requested for it since she missed it so much when she was in UK. So yea, everyone helped out to make it! Success I must say. It was the best meal. So traditional and lovely! So..... Indescribable! LOL! Wonder what is it? It is called Khao Jam! It's a thai name. Khao is rice and Jam is Kerabu (I think. Or is it the other way round?). So yes, it's Nasi Kerabu traditional style. Nyummm! ;)
This is Khao Jam!
In the evening, we went to the beach for around 1 hour. We managed to camwhore a lil though :) Pretty pictures we've taken. Then we went around searching for fresh clams but to our disappointment, there were none anymore :( We were too late actually. So we had the leftovers we had the past few days for dinner.
In Tok Bali beach :)
Need I say more about what I did at night? Lol, it's practically the same as the past few nights.

We went visiting in Kota Bahru. It's some distance relative or something. We found out that we actually have more cousins! :O WOW, but I forgot their names already :/ Sorry, I'm sooooo not good with names :( If any of you happen to stumble by my blog, don't say I'm a bad person! Haha, anyway they were nice people. They tried so hard to be friendly to us, talked to us and even asked us if we wanted to play cards with them.
So hardworking.
We left the place around 4-5pm for KB Mall to linger around while waiting for dinner time. We wanted to play some bowling, but the queue was long, so we decided not to. Walked around and saw SALES!!! :O Yea baby, SALES! Lol, we went on iPanema flip flops spree because it was on 50-70% Discount! Who wouldn't buy them? :D Mum & I bought a pair whilst sister bought 2 pairs!
When we were about to leave the mall, one place caught our attention! Guess what?! They have pool/snooker in the mall!!! WTF we should have discovered it earlier so that we could play! :( Oh well, we got flip flops to replace that! :D
For once in many many years, we finally had our dinner in a restaurant. This time, it was in Syam Restaurant- the one we wanted to have dinner in when we reached Kelantan. Heh, like finally!! We had 2 big round tables to fit us all- 23 of us (I think). Some went back already, so only 23 of us was left. Love the food there! Really good!
Oh, and this was our last day there. Was suppose to go to the beach & have massive amount of keropok lekor but oh well, we didn't have the time.
17th February 2010
Woke up early to pack pack pack! Mum bought massive amount of keropok lekor for us to make up yesterday's loss. Nyummm! ;P Lovely! Travelled back around 11am & reached Penang around 4something :)
P/s: My aunt gave me a bag from UK! :D :D Happy sial okay? Something I've always wanted ;) ♥
