How to curl your hair using only sponge! ♥

Yes, you heard that right. S-P-O-N-G-E ! ! ! :) It isn't just an ordinary sponge you use to scrub yourself while showering. It's a special sponge that is made specially to curl your hair! I call it the Japanese sponge curlers.

Well this is what you need.

Japanese sponge curlers (bought mine from Sasa RM15.90)
Curling cream or spray
Pins
Comb
Water
Mirror

Mmm, I guess that's it :)

Okay so here is what I did.

Wet your hair.
You can do this after you shower or even before you sleep. If you do it after your bath, wait till your hair is semi-dry first. If you do it before you sleep, wet your hair with a spray. As long as it's damp, you can start curling your hair.

Seperate your hair into sections.
Tie your hair into half first. Then, seperate the remaining hair that is untied using a comb into many sections, preferably into 2-4 sections. It depends how curly/wavy you want it to be.

Start curling!
After seperating them into sections, say 4 sections, take one section first and put the sponge curler. The hair should be above your curler. You can either roll your hair starting from the bottom right to the top or top to the bottom. Roll your hair inwards. Make sure it is tight enough so that it wouldn't drop off. If it keeps dropping off, use a pin to secure it. Do it for the next few sections of your hair.

Your magic tool! :) Mine is a stawberry shaped sponge curler.
(Sorry, but there are no pictures of me curling it.)

Wait, wait, and wait.
After rolling up all sections into the sponge curler, wait for at least an hour. If you want it to be much more curlier/ wavier, it is advisable to leave it on as long as possible. You may sleep with it too.

It'll look as if there are strawberries growing on your head! See, shoooooo cutes one! :)
(I'm only doing the bottom half of my hair which was seperated into 4 sections.)

Take it off.
After waiting for a long period of time, take one by one off carefully. Be careful not to pull the curlers off as it may reduce the curls.

It'll look like this when you just take it off. Twist it into the direction you want it to be.

Repeat all the steps above for the top part of your hair.

Maintain the curls.
Last but not least, apply the curling cream or spray on your hair. This is to maintain the curls.

Here's my end result! :D
I left it on for around 1 hour only, so it isn't that curly. It doesn't look so curly because I didn't use any cream or whatsoever spray too. But oh well, I still like it.

Nice? It's much better than using a curling tong. Mine never curls as much as this and it damages your hair.

Try it by yourself! :) I hope this works for you! ENJOY!
